Blue Crush Tropical Takeover

(Not a Case Study)

This is a Poster design I created for a pop-up restaurant event called “Blue Crush Tropical Takeover”. My client was looking for a retro 50s and 60s identity for their poster. They also wanted to incorporate influence from the 2002 surfer movie “Blue Crush”.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood...

All vector poster designs have a certain pull that regular posters do not have. It's simple, and easy for the eye to read. The color palette was based off the yellow that Brad Pitt is wearing in the poster. That helped create a fully cohesive design.

Harley Davidson

With Harley Davidson, they have over a hundred years of history. I wanted to keep things simple and classic. I brought in an old Harley Davidson motorcycle from the 50s/60s.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Sometimes less is more. I wanted to keep things simple with this poster because I wanted to keep the focus on the title and the main characters.

The Nice Guys

This film took place in the 70's which had an instrumental influence in the color palette.

Goodfellas

When making a Goodfellas poster I had to think of the most impactful scene. This scene is one that everyone who is a fan of Goodfellas will recognize. The effects and colors I used to create this poster was an exciting task I gave myself. I really enjoyed making this poster.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off - Concept Two

The inspiration for this alternate Ferris Bueller's Day Off poster came from the iconic Ferrari. I wanted the red to be the only color used in the poster in order not to distract the viewer.

Han Solo

This one was particularly exciting and challenging to make. The gradient effect in photoshop is not one I use often. To exercise and experiment with this tool yielded interesting and fun results for this Han Solo poster.

The Godfather

I chose this scene from The Godfather as the focus of my poster design because this is one of the two major scenes in the movie that altered Michael Corleone's life. It may not be that iconic like other scenes in the film, but it is an important scene that fans of the movie will love.

A Nightmare on Elm Street

Here we have another vector poster for A Nightmare On Elm Street. The colors I chose were chosen based on Freddy Krugers sweater. I kept things simple and sweet as to not distract the eye.
